A Short Stop in London

Rick Steves in hand:) Thanks Charlotte!
Our plan was to only be in London for about a day because we had heard it was so expensive, so we wanted to make the most of our 8 hours there.

We took the metro to close to central London and quickly found our way to St Andrews Cathedral where all of the royal weddings and such go on. To enter it cost about $40 per person, so we just walked around
the outside. There must have been over 200 people
in line at any given time from 9 am to about 5-6
pm. They probably saw over 100 people per hour. So that church was making over 50k per day on

admissions... that was just a little weird to me a church making that much money to tourism. Kind of reminded me of that time Jesus got real angry in the temple, right?

Then we walked over to Big Ben and heard it ring at 2 pm, though it wasn't as loud as we thought it would be. From there we also got to walk over the Thames River on the Thames Bridge before heading back over to Buckingham Palace
along with way too many high school kids from France.

From there we walked over to the metro station, snapping a couple photos in a little phone booth and making our way back to another airport to head back to Germany, for the third time in 4 weeks!
